Horne takes Formula Ford Kent opener

Parkview's Andrew Horne put in a remarkable drive at Zwartkops on Saturday (27 Feb) to take victory at the Formula Ford Kent event at the opening round of the Northern Regions championship.

The 24-year old began his run of success in qualifying by taking pole position in his Royale RP31 ahead of Dalan Holton (Van Diemen RF90).

The first race saw veteran racer Graham Vos (Zoo Lake Garage/Swift) take a narrow win with Horne crossing the line almost alongside after a race long scrap that also included third placed Holton.

Race two was another cracker and this time Horne beat Vos by 2/10ths of a second which was enough to give him the overall honours for the day. Holton was a safe third and just under a second adrift.
